Living with Grandmother, Parents, and 10 Siblings, I am the eldest of the Family. Need to babysit the younger siblings that join our family.
Enjoy a variety of games, no money buy toys, self-create games, climb trees, pick fruits from neighbour's tree, have fun with peers.
School’s main stream for girls is to study Chinese, we walked to school. Boys are to attend in town English School, convey via bus cater by my father, neighbours.
I had my PSLE (that was the very first PSLE) at age of 12 years. Mother on confinement, Grandmother weak and old. I took over to cook and care for mum during the school holidays. Marketing, cooking, 2nd sister help house keeping
Secondary school time, I spend more time learning, less outdoor playing and more help house work, taking up sewing lessons on weekend. Use own saving to study the skills. In school I danced for our 1st NDP.
Lim Jun Jie:
Coming from a humble background, my family consists of the 4 of us, my mother, my father, my brother, and myself.
My pastime was toys and the occasional television. I recall playing the Nerf gun with my brother, watching Doraemon on TV in the morning, and playing with the first iPhone when my dad bought it.
I remember it like yesterday where I had to wake up early, brush my teeth, get changed, and eat breakfast fast just so I would not miss the morning school bus. The school bus will take me to my school, located at Towner Road.
I remember myself being playful and disliked studying. This resulted in me to become poor in some subjects and require tuition. I remember every weekend for me is just another at tuition class, and I envy those who need not go for tuition.
Fast forward to the current day, I picked up an interest in photography. On August 9 2019, I formed my own photography group with a few friends and strangers I met on Jubilee Bridge.
Today, Marina Jubilee Group, consisting of Marina Jubilee Aviation, and Marina Jubilee Photography, made up of friends from all different backgrounds creating new ties and forging memories.
